The Yumthang Valley or Sikkim Valley of Flowers is a natural sanctuary on a meadow surrounded by Himalayan mountains in the northern Sikkim district of the Indian state of Sikkim, with rivers, hot springs, yaks and grazing pastures. It is located at a height of 11,693 feet from MSL, 150 km from the state capital Gangtok.

Known as the ‘Valley of Flowers’, it is home to the Shangba Rhododendron Sanctuary, which has more than 24 species of state flower rhododendrons. The flowering season lasts from late February to mid-June, when countless flowers bloom in the valley to make carpets in many rainbow colors. A tributary of the Teesta River and nearby population center passes through Lachung. The destination is closed due to heavy snowfall in December-March. Yumthang is also a hot spring in the valley.
