Kalimpong is an east Indian hill town in the Himalayan foothills of West Bengal. Kalimpong is situated at an altitude of 1,200 mtrs, approx 50 kms to the east of Darjeeling. The word Kalimpong made = (Kalim + Pong ) = Kalim means King’s Minister and Pong is the stronghold. It is also called Kalibong or the ‘black spur’ by the local people.
