The Teesta River is a 315 km long river that rises in the eastern Himalayas, enters the Bay of Bengal via the Indian states of Sikkim and West Bengal, and Bangladesh. It covers an area of 12,370 km2. In India, it flows through North Sikkim, East Sikkim, Klimpong District, Darjeeling District, Jalpaiguri District, Koch Bihar Districts and Ringpo, Jalpaiguri and Mukliganj. It joins the Jumna River at Falchari in Bangladesh.
