Lake Tsomgo is an ice lake in the East Sikkim District, about 40 km from the capital Gangtok. Located at an altitude of 12,313 feet, the lake freezes in winter. The surface of the lake reflects different colors with the change of seasons and is highly revered by the local scheming people. Buddhist monks make predictions after studying the changing colors of the lake.

As the lake is located in a limited area, permission must be obtained for all Indians visiting the area. Special permission is required in case of foreign nationals.
