Enchey Monastery

Enchey Monastery is around 200 years old. The monastery is around 3 kilometers away from the city. It belongs to the Nyingma order of Vajrayana Buddhism. The monastery is home to as many as 90 monks as of now. The Buddha, Loketeswara and Guru Padmasambhava are the three important deities worshipped in the monastery.

Chaam or religious masked dance is held at the monastery. The main building of the monastery is Lhakhang. The monastery gives you a great view of rich architecture and culture. The monastery celebrates couple of different festivals according to its rituals. Therefore, it is always very interesting to witness a new culture and heritage.
